It is often referred to as the jewel in the Mediterranean crown with wonderful examples of Romanesque, Gothic and most famously Modernist buildings, especially remarkable is the work of architect Antoni Gaudí, which can be seen around the city. His best known work is the immense but still unfinished temple of the Sagrada Família. Barcelona also houses a great number of museums and s well as the unique contemporary architecture.
